Trench Coat Weather

Originally created to protect us from rain, the trench coat has proven long time ago
that it has become a real wardrobe staple for Spring time not only for practicle reasons
but most of all as a fashion must have.
Some people might be a different opinion. I guess, you either love trench coats or you hate them but
I think most of you agree when I say, that a classic trench coat belongs in every wardrobe by the age of 25.

There are a couple of nice models available on the high street, if you want to find out first
whether it fits in your wardrobe or not. But I have to say it is definitely worth investing in a luxury,
high quality version of such a classic piece. You can find Burberry coats in every well sorted
Second hand store for a fraction of the original price, which doesn´t make it impossible to own such a classic.
However, my heart beats for one not so traditional model from Totême and a rather Burberry-like piece from Filippa K
Hard to make a decision as they are totally different in style but both absolutely beautiful.
I need to figure out soon because the weather in Berlin is just perfect for a Trench at the moment!

Wardrobe Basics for Spring

Slowly but surely I get sick of my winter wardrobe. For my liking winter might soon come to an end
so that I can finally get my spring clothes out again. With spring clothes I mean light blouses,
loafers and ballerines, t-shirts and sunglasses, which you can wear again without being stared at.
Online you can already find a great variety of new season pieces, which I can hardly resist.
Elin Kling has just added some really cool denim trousers to the collection of her brand Totême.
The dark washed casual fit model would be the perfect supplement to my own denim collection.
Worn with a well fitted t-shirt and complemented by some nice little details
a rather simple but relaxed look for any occasion.
What I like about t- shirt from &Other Stories is that they are made from a super soft but
light weight material and that the arms are kind of cropped, which suits my body really well.
If you haven´t found the perfect fitted shirt yet, you definitely check out these.
In spring time I love to wear loafers because they are something in between ballerinas and classic lace ups.
I already own one pair but another pair to vary seems like a good investment. Isabel Marant shoes
are always good quality, super comfy and the designs are simply amazing. Maybe a cheaper alternative
to classic Gucci loafers? When talking about Gucci, how cute is this bee bag?
Usually I don´t like prints on bags and Gucci is sometimes a little bit too much for my taste but
this bag took my heart by storm, if only the price weren´t that ridiculous.
As you can see all of these pieces are quite classic but still not square at all.
To invest in good quality pieces, which will last you for a couple of years, makes absolutely sense for me.
You just have to find out, what is missing in your wardrobe and what is easy
to combine with the pieces you already have.
I try to stick to my list and let you know, as soon as something was allowed to move in.

On my mind

Black friday in mind I´ve gathered the pieces which I´m currently coveting.
I hope to get my hands on one or another with some attractive reductions tomorrow.
New on my list is this beautiful but indeed unnecessary peacock sleep mask and these black lace up boots.
Still looking for some classic black boots I came across this & Other Stories lace up version and
liked them a lot as they are totally different to these ones I already have.
Something I definitely need to get is the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. I had the chance
to try it out recently and I can understand the hype of this product. It´s not really a bargain
but maybe I´m lucky enough to find a good offer. Another kind of hyped product in my mind
is the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm and I want to try it out ever since I heard about it.
Luckly they brought out a Christmas gift set, which is a really good deal even without Black Friday discount.
For the other items I hope of some attractive reductions. What´s on your Black Friday wishlist?

What I would like wearing today

As I was looking at the newest Spring Summer collection of Filippa K yesterday
this brown leather dream from last seasons presentation came suddenly
back into my mind and stays there ever since. Therefore I decided to create a full look
out of this piece to bring the outfit ideas in my head on paper, or rather on screen.
I could not do otherwise and created a classic, obviously seventies inspired look mixing brown and
blue shades with silver hardware. The a-line skirt is key piece of the look and as it´s made of real lamb nappa
it is understandably not really a bargain buy. But if you´re lucky enough to live in Sweden,
close to Stockholm or Uppsala, you can benefit from Filippa K´s latest lease project,
where you can rent pieces of the current collection for 20 percent of retail price for 4 days lease.
A great project to encourage a more sustainable fashion consumption in times of mass production and fast fashion.
I´d definitely make use of this possibility when it is going to be in Berlin anytime soon.
What about you?

Filippa K Spring 2016

pictures via www.style.com

Yesterday, Filippa K presented its newest designs for Spring 2016 within Stockholm Fashionweek.
Known for its Scandinavian Minimalism this collection is the embodiment of scandi minimalism
complemented by a slight seventies impact. The focus is set once again on high quality basics
which outlast more than one season, this season even more than before, I think.
But I can´t say something against this tendency. I always love a good quality basic.
The camel suede chelsea bootie has particularly done it to me. It´s exactly what I was looking for.
The colour palette is also reduced to a monochrome range of navy blue, powdery cream shades,
black and white and some rather trendy khaki green and brick red highights.
Even if it´s nothing groundbreaking I love what I see and it´s always important
to back the right horse when it comes to classics.

New Season Arrivals

How time flies! It´s already August, the summer wasn´t really summery yet and
sale season is almost over. The good thing is that means we can expect loads
of new season arrivals from now on. My first browse reveals a promising selection
full of neutral classics with a touch of retro chic.

Neutral Shades

A long time neutral shades like beige, brown and white were no part of my wardrobe.
Black, grey and navy blue were the dominating colour shades until I´ve discovered
my love for bright colour shades and neutrals in the past few month.
I´m so happy to recognize the tendency, that my new arrivals are mostly creme,
white or at least not black! I´ve gathered my favourite neutral coloured pieces for you.

On my mind

I definitely concluded with winter and don´t want to think about winter clothing anymore.
Do you feel likewise?
Anyway, I prefer looking forward to sunnier days and and some new potential favourites for the beginning of summer.
I found pieces, which are already longer on my wishlist and some new discoveries, which are equally desirable.

Filippa K Autumn/Winter 2014 Campaign

pictures via vogue.com

While the temperatures going higher and higher here in Germany,
we don´t want thinking about autumn yet. Actually!
The autumn/winter campaigns and collections which slowly stock up in stores are just to tempting.
The swedish brand Filippa K just released their awesome campaign featuring Constance Jablonski.
She looks perfect in the classic designs of Fillipa K without upstage the clothes.
Even if the colour palette is quite monochrome the warm and soft tones and
the simple whites suiting perfectly to each piece of clothing.
Timeless is the perfect word for this campaign.
I keep an eye on the powdery sweater.

Outfit Option: First working day

Today I´m starting a new intern ship in the Berlin-based Prag Agency.
I´m always so excited when the day is coming closer and I must ask myself, what to wear on the first day.
First days are not my favorites, you never know what to expect and how the other people are.
To make a first positive impression the way you style is an important factor you should think about.
I rely on a classic simple look with nice details.
A nice mixture of blue and creamy white, that is not to dark and gives a good a friendly touch.
Along with it a matching blue blazer, which you can wear above and classic, clean! leather booties.
For an elegant touch I would choose a silver or two-tone watch with a big face or borrow your boyfriend´s watch.
The most important thing is, that you fell good with that what you wear.
The nervousness may not run low but it´s one thing more you must not think about the whole time.
A big portion of self-confidence and you can start in this new adventure.
Keep the fingers crossed for me!

Little black dresses for New Year´s Eve

For all of you, who are celebrating New Year´s Eve in a big way,
I selected some nice little black dresses for the big night!
I think, one is always dressed best in a simple black dress like these ones.
Whether you´ll stay with your loved ones at home or you go out to a club.
With accessories and the right pair of shoes the most simple piece of clothing gets its huge performance.

In the mood of Christmas: Outfit III

Earlier this week I presented you an elegant look for Christmas Eve here.
Now I suggest a casual way to dress on the 24th of December.
If you keep it simple and cozy than I would wear the classic wide-leg trouser from Filippa K
combined with a cozy sweater from Acne with a standing collar.
Cos offers a nice silver bracelet as an elegant detail. For touch of colour
I could imagine wearing this pink cashmere socks from Cos inside my Birkenstock sandals.
Matching to the socks, the Acne Canada Scarf and a long coat from Zara to complete the Outfit.
What´s your favorite, the elegant or casual way?

I wish I would wearing

It doesn´t look like in the picture now here in Germany but it feels like!
The temperatures falling and falling and the best option for me to stay warm is the turtleneck in the moment.
This sweater from Weekday already landed in my shopping bag during my last trip.
To that I would love to combine the flared trousers from Filippa K and
a cozy warm-keeping leather jacket from Acne. Booties by Cos,
gloves from Asos and a pastel pink scarf round off the outfit.
The jacket is also a nice variation to all the winter coats, all are wearing now, me included.
