Dree Hemingway for Free People Holiday Shoot

New Year´s Eve is just around the corner. 2015 has past so quickly, I can´t believe it.
The older you get, the faster everything seems to go by. What are your plans to celebrate New Year´s eve?
Honestly, I´m that kind of person who prefers staying at home in front of the tv,
watching fireworks from the window. But this year I decided to go for something different.
My boyfriend and I were invited to a 20ies theme party and you can imagine, I had nothing at all in wardrobe to wear.
This Holiday lookbook from Free People got me great inspiration for my New Year´s Eve look.
A little bit of twenties vibes, glamourous but also super stylish.
Not only suitable for a twenties party but also for every other
New Year´s eve party, as long as you wear enough red lipstick and a bit of glitter.
I already wish you a happy new year! See you 2016!

Cozy Christmas

Just one more sleep and it´s Christmas - yay!
That means 3 following days with loads of delicious food and cozy times with your family on the sofa.
I don´t know what about you but I prefer dressing comfy and casual these days.
Hence Christmas jumpers are essentials during Christmas holidays.
Easy to style with a skirt and tights for the ultimate comfort or even with an elegant trouser and heels.
As you can see, I´ve gathered my favourite five festive jumpers
for those who haven´t got any yet and want to get one last minute.

Christmas tree

We are going to pick up our Christmas tree this weekend and I can´t wait.
Picking up the Christmas tree is the final step of getting festive at home and decorating it is so much fun.
I really enjoy this annual tradition more and more since I live in my own apartment and
decide for myself how everything should look like.
My tree might be crooked, spare and not perfect at all but that doesn´t matter in my household.
I love trees with character and some weak spots as well. Becuase it´s not about perfection at all
at Christmas time it´s only about having a cozy and relaxed time. Don´t stress yourself!
It´s easy to say, I know, but perfection is lifeless when you can´t enjoy it.
Having a tree stored in a big old wine bottle looks even more fantastic than a perfect shaped tree, I think.
Enjoy this lovely time to the fullest!

Gift Guide

Traditionally, as every year, my personal wishlist concludes my little Gift Guide trilogy.
So Santa, if you´re reading, and you´re still not sure what to get me,
I´d love to find one of these things under the Christmas tree.
Maybe you can spot the one or another piece you might love to receive as well.
I´m curious what´s on your wishlist apart from happiness and healthiness!

Gingerbread Cookies

Isn´t it the best thing to spend a cozy Advent Sunday baking with your loved ones?
I enjoy this procedure so much, especially when those amazingly pretty cookies turn out at the end.
It was the first time of baking gingerbread cookies for me and I´m so proud of my little art works,
who not only look quite nice but also taste really delicious.
Because of that, I thought it might be interesting for you how I did them
as it is a super easy recipe, I promise!

For the gingerbread cookies you need:
175g dark muscovado sugar
85g golden syrup
100g slighly salted butter
350g plain flour
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon bicarb
1 egg, beaten

How you make them:
Put the sugar, golden syrup and butter in a saucepan, bring to simmer and let bubble
for about 2 minutes, set aside to cool slightly for 10 minutes.
Put the flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices into a bowl and add the syrup and the egg.
Bring everything together, kneading to form a smooth dough.
Cling film and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Heat the oven to 180c and line to baking trays.
Remove the dough from the fridge and allow to soften for 20 minutes.
Dust a work surface, cut the dough in half so its easy to work with and roll out.
Cut in to desired shapes and cook for 10-12 minutes.
Once cooled, pipe on your desired decorations.

Seasonal Make-up by Lisa Eldridge

Are you invited to a Christmas party soon and you´re not sure yet how your make-up may look like?
Than this little tutorial by one and only Lisa Eldridge might be the right for you.
In a couple of quite easy steps she created a rather minimal but certainly evening appropriate
make-up on beautiful Alexa Chung. I really enjoyed watching this not only because of
the final result but also to listen to Alexa´s husky voice, which I love.
What do I say? I simply love this girl. Go check this out if you need some inspiration make-up-wise.
My first Christmas party is tonight - the question about my make-up look is not any longer a problem.

Gift Guide

Another week, another gift guide.
After one non-Christmas related post it´s again time for another christmassy one
as we have only 2 weeks left until Christmas eve.
When you are as good as I finding presents for your female part of your family and friends but
you have no idea what to get the male part this is for you. I´ve gathered some quite nice and
most of all practical gift ideas for our boys. I know that my male part of the family loves
to receive useful things and I guess they are not much different than others.
So get inspired if you´re still uncertain what to get them and
keep in mind that men often prefer gifts they can make use of,
a nice perfume for instance or a beautiful pen with a personalized engraving.

Iseline Steiro by Hasse Nielsen for Cover Magazine

This Story of Iseline Steiro for Cover Magazine is a fantastic inspiration
in between all these crazy Christmas madness, which I personally don´t mind but lets be honest,
we don´t want to see Christmas everywhere. Every now and then it´s extremely refreshing
just to look for inspiration in every imaginable form. For me this inspiration comes from pictures.
As I came across this Story photographed by Hasse Nielsen I definitely got a good portion of it.
Somehow Iseline Steiro calms me down a lot with her appearence.
When those pictures has been also taken in nature it´s almost safe that I´ll love them as I do.

Gift Guide

The countdown has started. Everyone, including me, is excited for Christmas, I guess.
Aren´t you?
I know how hard it can be to keep a clear head during this crazy time of year and
I hope to give you one or another idea for your loved ones, if you haven´t got any yet.
I don´t know if it´s just me but I think, it´s always easier to get a lovely present
for a female person whether it is your mum, sister, friend or grandmother.
But it is also important to keep track of all these tempting pieces and focus on the person
you want to give this present. Buying something just to have something to give away is never a good solution.
When you know this person really enjoys beauty, buy something beauty related.
When you know this person doesn´t like any girly stuff maybe get something technique related like a phone charger.
Some people really enjoy organising things, then a pretty hanger set might be the right present.
It is all up to the personality of your presentee! It´s still enough time to sit down for a while and
give thought to everyone you want to give a present. Maybe, my collage gives you one or another inspiration.
I would love to hear your ideas as well!

PS: Next week is also a Gift Guide for boys coming up.

Getting Festive

pictures via www.pinterest.com

How does your home look during Christmas time?
Are you this kind of person whose apartement looks festive from top to bottom
or do you work with festive accents like I do? I got myself some inspirations from printerest and
now I feel really good prepared to start my decoration session this weekend.
Obviously, you can see that I prefere minimalistic bits and bobs and combine them
with natural materials to create a christmassy atmosphere at home.
For those who haven´t got place for a proper Christmas tree I really like the alternative
to put evegreens in shape of a tree on your wall and decorate it with pretty baubles.
Branches are my favourite thing to decorate anyway and so easy to get!
Do you have any nice ideas for this year Christmas decorations? More inspirations really welcome!
